Build St. Louis Is Helping People Support Local Businesses
If every city were a mere imprint of the one before, would people even want to travel? Local businesses are what give a city like ours their flavor and vibrancy. Mom and Pop shops that once were fading into the background are starting to crop up again across the city as people are pursuing new careers and are becoming their own bosses. A new alliance called BUILD St. Louis has popped up to support these businesses and to help build and preserve the character of the city by helping to promote these local entrepreneurs.
The BUILD St. Louis Alliance was formed to encourage St. Louisans to buy from other St. Louisans. For a nominal membership fee businesses, and even citizens, can support BUILD St. Louis' mission. Businesses and non-profit organizations who are members have access to networking events and business promotional materials, and they also are listed in the group's local buying guide and website. And the membership fees for citizens help support BUILD and all of their efforts.
You don't have to be a member to use BUILD's resources and support the growing local buying trend; BUILD's website allows you to access their local buying guide, which lists local businesses by business type. Aside from preserving the charm of St. Louis, buying local may also save you money and get better quality products and services, and BUILD St. Louis promises to be a mighty resource for St. Louis businesses and consumers as it continues to grow.
